2011 Season Week 2

Week 2

We had a father/daughter team up for our second week and the great action continued!  Night 1 had the young lady passing on 5 bears – 1 that left her second guessing her decision.  Jenna went back to the same stand Tuesday night and took her FIRST black bear.  It was the 5th one to come in that night.  It wasn’t the same one as she saw the night before, but she was thrilled to have her first bear down!

Dad was up next and his first sit on Wednesday night produced a sighting of a true giant!  He wouldn’t give Karl the shot, but just sharing the woods with a beast that size while sitting with your little girl had to be an ADRENALINE rush!  The weather turned and we could not get back into that site the next evening, so we chose a different location.  Weather had the bears holding tight, but on Friday night, Karl got a chance at a super bear!!  While checking the bait with Rod, a hot sow was feeding.  Rod got Karl in the tree and the wait began.  Finally, near dark, the big boar moved in.  Unfortunately, the shot was just low and the bear escaped unharmed.

We’re looking forward to having Karl and Jenna back with us next year for Karl’s ‘shot at redemption’.

Spring Bear 2011

We just finished our first week of Spring Bear Hunting up here at Adrenaline Outfitters. Roger Raglin and his son Josh were up filming for an upcoming episode of Roger Raglin Outdoors. The season started out fast with Roger taking his bear on the first night!  Not to be outdone, Josh was up next and got his bear on night number 2.  With 2 bears down, they tried some fishing and caught a pile of fish of all shapes, sizes and species including white bass, smallmouth bass, channel catfish and of course, walleye.  Roger caught the largest fish – a great 29″ walleye!

Spring Newsletter

2011 Spring Newsletter – Cabin Fever Edition

We hope everyone’s winter went well. After a mild start, our winter got cold and nasty. We still have a lot of snow on the ground and the forecast isn’t calling for it to warm up any time soon!!
We were excited to find this photo on one of our trail cameras after this years’ hunting season. He’s a super tall and wide 4 x 4 that will be an incredible buck this upcoming whitetail season! But first, we have to take care of some spring and fall bears for our hunters coming up to join us!!

We’re looking forward to the melt so we can get up into our spring area. We’re going to be opening up more baits so we can provide even more opportunity for our hunters. 2010 was a great year as we had over 90% success, and our average was just over 6’ square!! Repeat hunter Don Kline took one of our largest bears at over 7’ square, and a 20”+ skull!!

*Our free youth hunt package continues to be popular. This spring, we will have at least 5 young hunters joining us!! Here is a picture of one of the successful youth hunters with his first black bear.

We still have a very few openings left for spring and fall 2011. If you, or someone you know is interested in joining us for a great wilderness adventure, make sure to give us a call!! !
